Abstract:

  • JetControl 243-W as master controller with three servo-drives and networking with Ethernet-TCP/IP
  • Positioning of the X, Y, W axes for immersing the mold and positioning in the sander and dryer
  • System operation with a graphic display with a digital potentiometer for simple teaching of new positions
  • Monitoring and control of the cyclone (drying chamber)
  • Output of the temperature data through its own interface on the JetControl 243-W

Criteria in Favor of Jetter AG:

As very good results have been achieved in vacuum casting applications with Jetter control systems in recent years, only one control system made by Jetter AG which features the latest Ethernet technology was considered by the customer. This new technology sets new standards for prototype construction systems.
Three distinctive features of JetWeb technology helped to reach this goal:

  • Integration of the servo-axes with the JetSym programming software and the simple programming
  • Monitoring of the entire process and transmission of the temperature data to databases for archiving
  • Remote maintenance of the system via Ethernet

Technical Description of the Production Plant:

Application of ceramic layers on wax molds for rapid prototyping. The molds have individual sizes and shapes:

  • The wax mold is immersed in a rotating slurry tank
  • The mold is subsequently coated with special sand
  • The drying time is considerably shortened by means of heat and air circulation in the cyclone
  • The higher surface temperature increases the bonding forces and results in a higher strength
  • With the JetSym program the drives can be integrated into the control system without interfaces
  • Simplified operation with the fully graphic operating unit JV-205 with a digital potentiometer

The system has two considerable advantages. One is the considerably shorter manufacturing time, the other the enhanced quality and strength of the manufactured molds.
